NED University of Engineering and Technology has launched the Undergraduate Fellowship Program, providing scholarships to 2,900 newly admitted and current undergraduate students.
With a budget of Rs 23.3 million, this initiative aims to ensure that no student has to drop out due to financial constraints. The fellowship program is named in honor of Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar and Ms. Fatima Jinnah.
The program features a tiered scholarship structure, offering 100% tuition and exam fee waivers to top performers. Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, benefiting 300 A-Level students, 1,500 Karachi Board students, and other eligible students.
Current students can also benefit, with top performers in each program eligible for fellowships after the first semester. Students with a CGPA above 2.0 will receive a 22% tuition fee discount, while those with lower CGPAs will receive a 15% discount.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sarosh Lodhi stated that this program sets a new standard in higher education, positioning NED University as a beacon of hope for students in need of financial assistance. The fellowship list will be published alongside the merit list at the time of admission.
This initiative complements the existing Rs 20 crore scholarship program, reinforcing NED University’s commitment to making education accessible to all.
