While video chatting with Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli expressed his hope to visit Pakistan soon.
A viral video on social media captured this memorable moment, highlighting Kohli’s desire to play in Pakistan as international teams have begun returning to the country.
Shehroze Kashif posted a picture of the exchange on Instagram, stating that the conversations took place in Nepal in 2022. He met an Indian national while there who told him about his connections to the Indian cricket team and expressed admiration for his mountaineering accomplishments.

Kashif explained that he “jokingly expressed” his desire to talk to Virat Kohli to the Indian man, who then made it happen. “To my surprise, he messaged Kohli on my behalf, and I had the opportunity to chat with him via video call. As a Pakistani, I proudly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era,” he wrote in the video’s caption.
In the video, the 35-year-old Kohli is heard saying, “Give my regards to your family and all your friends. Hopefully, we visit Pakistan soon, (as) everyone’s started visiting now.”
Kashif chose not to reveal the identity of the person who arranged the online meeting to avoid any potential political issues.
It should be noted that Kohli has been the most outstanding player for India in the last ten years, scroing 26,733 international runs across all formats with 80 centuries.
