Netflix’s original series ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ starring Park Seo-jun and Han So-hee has grabbed no. 3 on the streaming service’s rankings for non-English language shows globally.
Upon landing at no. 3 globally, the show has topped domestic rankings and has also made it to the top 10 lists in 20 countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and India.
‘Gyeongseong Creature’ depicts a group of people who encounter a mysterious monster during the Japanese colonial occupation of Korea in 1945. Together, they face hidden horror as monsters created by greed pose a deadly threat. For those who are unaware, Gyeongseong was the original name for Korea’s capital city before it became Seoul.
Part 1 of ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ was released on December 22, consisting of seven episodes out of a total of 10. Part 2 will be released on January 5, 2024. It’s speculated to have much fewer episodes to finish off the storyline, with three episodes. However, Gyeongseong Creature might have a season a Season 2.
Besides Park Seo-joon and Han Soo-hee, the Gyeongseong Creature features Claudia Kim as Maeda, Kim Hae-sook as Nawol-daek, Cho Han-cheul as Yoon Joong-Won and Wi Ha-joon as Kwon Joon-Taek.
