Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will face off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for their Cricket World Cup 2023 fixture today.
The game will start at 1:30 p.m. PST.
There remains little to play for the two teams as they are out of reckoning for the semi-finals, following their disappointing runs in the tournament so far.
Bangladesh are ninth on the World Cup points table after winning only one of their seven matches so far in the tournament. The Shakib Al Hasan-led side’s only win of the tournament game against Afghanistan in their tournament opener early last month. Since then, the team has suffered six losses on the bounce.
Bangladesh’s latest defeat was a 7-wicket loss against Pakistan in Bengaluru.
Sri Lanka are currently seventh in the table with four points from seven matches, which includes two wins and five defeats.
Sri Lanka do not only need to win their remaining two matches, they also need other results to go their way, if they want to finish in the fourth spot, although it seems very unrealistic at this point.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have faced each other in four ODI World Cup matches, with the latter winning on three occasions and one game ended without a result.
