ISLAMABAD: The government’s decision to speed up action against those responsible for the May 9 incidents has come out as the police investigation team has prepared lists of 124 more accused.
According to the details, the special police team handed over the lists of 124 accused to the respective police stations, and the officers moved to arrest them. In the last 48 hours, 35 more people were arrested in connection with the May 9 incidents.
Some media reports have claimed that the prosecution and investigation team have decided the details for the investigation of Imran Khan. RPO Rawalpindi has been entrusted with the supervision of the investigation into the 9th May incidents from Imran Khan.
So far, 19 cases have been registered in various police stations on May 9 incidents in Rawalpindi. The police detained 444 accused and transferred them to Adiala Jail. The number of suspects arrested in the GHQ attack on May 9 has increased to 75.
It should be noted that earlier the challans of other cases related to the May 9 tragedy, including the Jinnah House attack, were submitted in the Anti-Terrorism Court.
Prosecutors submitted challans of cases related to the May 9 tragedy in the Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore last month, in which Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, former Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and former Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema were named as accused.
