The death news of Matthew Perry whose full name was Matthew Langford Perry has left his fans shocked and sad after the 54-year-old actor was found dead in his apartment this weekend.

Born on August 19, 1969, the American-Canadian actor was found dead Saturday in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. He was best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the TV sitcom Friends. Let’s have a look at his life and journey throughout all these years:

Born and raised in Canada, Perry attended elementary school with Justin Trudeau, who later became Canadian prime minister.

He then later as a teenager moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an actor. In the late 1980s, he starred as Chazz Russell in Boys Will Be Boys and as Roger alongside Christina Applegate in the teen movie Dance ‘Til Dawn.

However, it was not his first role but it was the role of Chandler Bing from ‘Friends’, that catapulted Perry to global fame.

The quick-witted Chandler was famous for his sarcastic one-liners, and the role earned Perry a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2002.

Friends first aired in 1994 and went on to become one of the most successful shows of all time.

Apart from Friends, Perry appeared in several films, including ‘Fools Rush In’, ‘Almost Heroes’, ‘The Whole Nine Yards’ and ’17 Again’.

His recent work was ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’, a memoir published by Perry which came out in November 2022.

Looking into his love interest, Perry had a long-term relationship with Jamie Tarses. They met in 1994 before Friends premiered and dated for several years.
