A person reaps what he sows, and the words he utters with his tongue will either make him pay the price or prove to be profitable.
The difference between a face-to-face conversation and a conversation on social media is that in a face-to-face interaction, not only words are exchanged but also voice, mannerisms, and facial expressions.
In today’s era of communication via computers or mobile devices, we send and receive only words, often enhanced by images that may contain elements of violence or humor to add emphasis.
These enhancements sometimes lead to undesirable outcomes. If an image intended to be sent is replaced by someone else, it can convey a different message, and in negotiation, it is inappropriate to disregard ethical considerations.
Many social media users, including actors, singers, TV hosts, and other famous personalities, are subjected to trolling. However, the fault does not always lie with the individuals engaging in trolling. Actors, artists, and celebrities can also make mistakes.
Misunderstandings occur, but it’s essential for those engaging in trolling to recognize that many social media users critique public figures simply to express their viewpoint, though this is often seen as overreach.
Getting a point across does not necessitate aggressive behavior, nor is mocking and trolling an acceptable means to seek attention. Social media users should respect their favorite personalities and celebrities and refrain from subjecting them to baseless trolling.
If discussing religion, it’s more appropriate to do so in suitable settings rather than on social media. For instance, telling an actor, artist, or singer that their profession is not compatible with Islam is akin to publicly disrespecting them. Matters concerning religious beliefs should be conveyed through personal messages rather than in public posts.
Similarly, many people resort to inappropriate actions and gestures to convey their messages, even posting indecent videos that may prompt legal action. It’s high time for social media users to demonstrate intellectual maturity. Famous personalities should protect themselves from trolling and abstain from making baseless accusations.
