The movies—Costner’s first to be directed in 20 years—depict a 15-year era before and after the American West was expanded and settled during the American Civil War. Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, and Luke Wilson are among the talented cast members.
“Horizon: An American Saga tells the story of that journey in an honest and forthcoming way, highlighting the points of view and consequences of the characters’ life and death decisions,” said Costner in a statement.

Costner has spent the last five years playing John Dutton on Yellowstone, which made him one of the highest-paid actors in episodic TV. But his future with the series remains uncertain amid a messy fallout with “Yellowstone” producers, who alleged that Costner had been available for fewer and fewer days as he focused his attention on shooting “Horizon.” Costner, however, said the opposite is true and asserted he was delaying his filming schedule to accommodate Season 5 of “Yellowstone.”
