KARACHI: Robotic surgery has started for the first time in the history of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
According to the spokesperson of JPMC, robotic surgery was started for the first time in the history of Jinnah Hospital Karachi, the first surgery was performed on a 34-year-old man, and 14 experts including hospital director Professor Shahid Rasool participated in the operation.
Director Jinnah Hospital Professor Shahid Rasool said that the first patient’s gallbladder was operated successfully, this operation was done in 25 minutes using a robotic machine.

Professor Shahid Rasool says that from today there will be more than 2 operations on a daily basis, and free operations will continue for needy patients of the urology and gynecology wards of the hospital.
He said that any one patient incurs lakhs of rupees for robotic surgery, but as a result of free robotic surgery at Jinnah Hospital, all deserving patients will get this facility free of cost.
