Dua Lipa continues to experiment in movies as Henry Cavill is set to save the world once more as an international spy in Matthew Vaughn‘s upcoming spy thriller, “Argylle.”
Directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn, Argylle is described as “a razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller”.
The official synopsis reads: “Bryce Dallas Howard is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie.
Apple Original Films released the first trailer for the movie, teasing Cavill’s super-spy, Argylle, who travels around the globe conducting top-secret missions. The film, out Feb. 2, 2024, was previously said to be based on a forthcoming novel from first-time author Elly Conway — but with the trailer and movie’s official synopsis, it’s been revealed that Conway is also a character in the film. Whether or not she is a real person has yet to be confirmed.

The new trailer finds a blonde Lipa sauntering toward Henry Cavill, who plays Agent Argylle, before posing the question, “I certainly hope you dance as well as you dress.” The two then partake in a tango-turned-standoff before the trailer launches into a brief overview of the film’s plot: An author’s (Bryce Dallas Howard) world is turned upside down when it is revealed that her wildly successful spy novels are beginning to mirror missions for a covert syndicate of international spies — some of whom want to kidnap her, kill her — or both.
Argylle is slated to hit theaters on Feb. 2, 2024, with a star-studded cast that also includes John Cena, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Ariana DeBose and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn and produced by Apple Studios and Marv Studios.
