LAHORE: Amid the soaring prices of petrol, JDC Welfare Foundation has started an initiative to provide free fuel to the masses burdened by the rising prices.
Chairman JDC Welfare Foundation Zafar Abbas said that they are providing free petrol and will take this gift to the whole of Pakistan.
After Karachi, the organization has also started providing free petrol to the people of Lahore. JDC started providing free petrol to the citizens on Jail Road area of Lahore where there was a rush of motorcyclists eager to avail the facility,
Speaking to MM News, Chairman JDC Zafar Abbas said that a middle-class man cannot pour petrol worth 300 rupees per litre. He said if a middle-class man spends 15 thousand rupees a month on petrol, how will he survive the rest of the month on Rs5000 only.
He thanked wealthy individuals like Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz and Shahid Qureshi who distribute crores worth of petrol to people as gift,
Chairman JDC said that even if three days of petrol is provided, people will feed their children with bread for at least three days.
“It is not any kind of aid or charity but a gift to the people. We are taking this campaign all over Pakistan. Look at the joy on the faces of the people who are getting petrol,” he said.
In response to a question, Zafar Abbas said that apart from Karachi and Lahore, they will distribute free petrol in every city of the country including Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Quetta.
As long as philanthropists continue to contribute, free petrol will continue to be given to people, he added.
