The diminishing confidence of youth on state

According to a news report, due to the high demand for U.S. visas from Pakistan, the United States has reduced the waiting time for the appointment of visa applicants and has decided to expedite the process.

The decision to expedite visa applications is welcome news for individuals who are eagerly awaiting their visas from the U.S. Embassy, hoping for a better future and a higher standard of living in the United States. This development is indicative of the fact that visa demand from Pakistan has reached its highest levels, reflecting the economic and social conditions in Pakistan.

It is important to note that individuals do not leave their homes and countries with joy. In pursuit of education, employment, and livelihood, some people face difficult challenges, forcing them to leave their homes and loved ones behind.

The pursuit of halal (lawful) sustenance is an essential duty in Islam, and one cannot fulfill this obligation without hard work and effort. Traveling to different places and countries in search of lawful livelihood is not prohibited but rather encouraged in pursuit of sustenance when opportunities are limited in one’s own country. However, this raises questions about individual responsibility versus the responsibilities of states and governments regarding employment and economic conditions.

Human trafficking has always been a global issue, and contemporary migration remains a significant concern in today’s world. People continue to migrate in search of better opportunities, and many of them choose to move to more economically stable and prosperous countries due to the lack of adequate facilities and employment opportunities in their home countries. Among them, a significant number resort to illegal channels due to the unavailability of legal means, which can lead to dangerous and life-threatening situations.

The consequences of human trafficking are not only felt by the individuals involved but also affect the country they leave behind. Questions arise about why the state does not provide better living standards for its citizens and why it forces its citizens to seek employment opportunities in foreign countries, often through illegal means.

Undoubtedly, the high demand for U.S. visas from Pakistan is not a matter of pride, joy, or satisfaction. Instead, it is a moment of introspection for the state and the entire nation. It is imperative that the state improves internal governance, justice, and merit, regardless of whether it provides any facilities or not. Addressing the severe mismanagement, corruption, and erosion of the justice system in every institution and sector, and restoring public trust, can go a long way in controlling the shameful situation of population flight.

It is a matter of great regret that the public, especially the youth of the nation, is so profoundly disillusioned with the state that they now see their future as bleak. To bring about a change, the state must take this matter seriously and take necessary steps to rebuild the confidence of its youth.

In summary, the high demand for U.S. visas from Pakistan reflects the challenging economic and social conditions in the country. It also highlights the need for better governance, justice, and efforts to restore the confidence of the youth in their own country.
