ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi and Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar have expressed grief and sorrow over the losses caused by the earthquake in Morocco.
In their separate statements on Saturday, the President and Prime Minister condoled with the quake-affected families.
The President expressed solidarity with the people and government of Morocco. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the calamity.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said in this hour of difficulty, Pakistan stands with the brave people and government of Morocco and will provide them all possible support.
In a post on social media, the prime minister said our hearts ache for those affected by the severe earthquake in Morocco. He said Pakistan extends its hand in unity and support to Morocco in this trying time.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Human Rights, Khalil George has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the earthquake in Morocco.
The minister said that he is with the government and people of Morocco in this hour of trial. He further said that he sympathizes with the affected families for the loss of life and proper.
Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and property caused by the devastating earthquake in Morocco.
In a statement, PPP chairman said in his message to the government and people of Morocco said that he is saddened and shocked by the situation caused by the natural disaster there.
He said that his party, PPP, and the people of Pakistan are standing with the people of the brotherly Islamic country in these difficult times.
He extended his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the earthquake and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said he is “pained” to know about hundreds of casualties due to a terrifying earthquake in Morocco
“In these trying times, we stand in solidarity with the people of Morocco. Special prayers for the bereaved families and those injured and trapped under the rubble,” he said.
In Morocco, at least 632 people have been killed in a powerful earthquake of 6.8-magnitude that struck the country’s High Atlas mountains. The quake also destroyed buildings, sending residents of major cities rushing from their homes.
Morocco’s Interior Ministry said the number constitutes a preliminary death toll and that 329 people have been injured. A local official said most deaths were in mountain areas that were hard to reach.
