Pakistani boxer Usman Wazeer defends WBO’s World Youth Champion title

Pakistani boxer Usman Wazeer successfully defended the title of World Boxing Organization’s World Youth champion.

He won the match after defeating title challenger Tanzanian boxer Faqiri Salim on points. The judges unanimously declared Usman Wazeer the winner after an eight-round fight at the Karakoram International Boxing Championship in Gilgit.

At the start of the bout, Tanzanian boxer Faqiri Saleem kept Usman Wazeer under pressure and the Pakistani boxer was busy defending in the early rounds. Usman Wazeer fought brilliantly during the last two rounds and left his opponent helpless with his punches.

Pakistan’s cricketers Shahnawaz Dhanani and Mir Hamza were also present in the arena at Lalik Jan stadium to watch the boxing match. The cricketers recited the national anthem with Usman Wazeer before the start of the match.

A large number of spectators were present at to watch the match and welcomed Usman Wazeer on his arrival in the arena. At the end of the competition, all the judges gave a unanimous decision in favor of Usman Wazeer as the audience in the arena erupted in joy.
