LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is set to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia.
The PML-N leader will Dubai and Abu Dhabi for two weeks where he will spend Eid-ul-Azha with his family. PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is also expected to join him.
Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz told reporters his father would be going to Dubai, and may travel to Saudi Arabia. He is also expected to meet members of the royal family in Abu Dhabi.
Sharif also spent the previous Eid-ul-Fitr with family in Saudi Arabia. He will return back to London and is not expected to visit Pakistan anytime soon.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in London over the weekend after his trip to Paris. He arrived at Avenfield apartments to meet his brother and discussed political issues.
Speaking to reporters before the meet, the incumbent prime minister said Pakistan was hopeful of its agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as it had met all conditions of the financial institution.
He said the IMF board should approve the programme for Pakistan. He said the meeting with the Managing Director IMF in Paris in a friendly atmosphere.
The prime minister said he was in touch with the IMF team and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and everybody should pray for an early agreement with the IMF.
