ISLAMABAD: The 33rd death anniversary of Begum Raa’na Liaquat Ali Khan, founder of All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA) and wife of first prime minister of Pakistan, is being observed on Tuesday.
According to details, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan died at the age of 85 years in February 1990. She has the honor of being the first lady, a member of Tehreek-e-Pakistan, and the first woman governor of Sindh. She will always be remembered in the country’s history.
Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, along with her spouse and the right hand of the Quaid-e-Azam, Liaquat Ali Khan, entered the political arena in 1940 and saw the changing situation of the country’s history, the most important of which was the establishment of Pakistan.
Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan continued to serve as a responsible member of the Pakistan Movement Committee as a subordinate of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. She also became an economic adviser and was then called the first lady of the country.

Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan’s services for the education and development of women have been unforgettable. After her birth, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali studied at Girls’ High School, Nainital, and did her Masters’s in Economics and Sociology from Lucknow University.
