According to a report, the Pak International Honey Market of Peshawar is the largest honey market in Asia from where 300 to 400 containers are exported abroad annually.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the bee industry was introduced by Afghan refugees in 1989. Now the business of bees in the province, which started with five boxes, has reached millions of boxes.
10 to 15 lakh people are involved in this business while 30,000 tons of honey is being produced annually which is exported to Gulf countries.
In different districts of the province, the honey of Berri, Palaya, Suparke, and Rubynia is produced, in which there is no second to the berry honey of the Karak district.
