RAJANPUR: The operation in Rajanpur against the militants, which has been going on for last eleven days, is reported to have intensified with four gangsters arrested and 2 police personnel losing their lives.
The police have been targeting the secret hideouts of the militants in the region, with a focus on the ambush sites of the Dulani and Lond gangs.
In Chak Kapra and Khairpur Bambili, the police have destroyed these ambush sites as well as the hideouts of the militants.
MM News has learnt that the Dulani and Lond gangs were involved in serious incidents, which prompted the police to conduct these operations. Forces are advancing into more areas of Kutcha, and three more pickets have been established to stabilize the position further.
In addition to this, the Kokani gang has arrested four more operatives. The accused were found to be in possession of Kalashnikovs and other weapons. With these arrests, the total number of arrested accused has increased to 18, and three robbers have been killed during the operation.
The police have recovered an extensive array of weapons during the operation, including launchers, rockets, LMs, hand grenades, dozens of Kalashnikovs, and thousands of bullets of various bores.
The police have traced and cordoned off the secret hideouts of the dangerous militant criminals. They have also started to use snipers to hit the target in the operation, as per DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal.
Moreover, the police have cleared thousands of acres of land from the raw criminals for camping purposes, according to the DPO.
Meanwhile, more than a dozen dacoits attacked a police picket in the Gambro Ghotki police station limits. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of two police officials, Ali Gohar and Kishor Kumar, while another cop, Aziz Mirani, sustained injuries.
According to Sukkur DIG Javed Jaskani, the dacoits opened fire on the police picket, which resulted in the unfortunate loss of two lives. The injured cop, Aziz Mirani, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
