Osman Khalid Butt’s father Dr. Khalid Said Butt has passed away.
The sad news was announced by the actor himself as he took to Twitter and expressed that his beloved father passed away peacefully on the night of the 13th.

Our beloved father, Dr. Khalid Said Butt, passed away peacefully on the night of the 13th. As per his wishes, his Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayers) will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday at Khalid Masjid, Cavalry Ground Extension, Lahore. pic.twitter.com/fabOAwiteu

“As per his wishes, his Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayers) will be held after jummah prayers on Friday at Khalid Masjid, Cavalry Ground Extension, Lahore,” Butt mentioned.
According to Osman Khalid, his father’s accomplishments in the field of arts are manifold and his contribution to Pakistan’s arts and culture is immeasurable.
He also mentioned his father was the Founding Director General of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts, former DG of Lok Virsa, former MD NAFDEC, and former DG of the National Hijra Council.

Khalid Said Butt was an esteemed actor, director, and writer of stage and screen, responsible for launching the careers of many legends of Pakistan television, and the recipient of many awards, including the Pride of Performance from the Government of Pakistan and the Officer de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the Government of France. For Osman, this is truly a tremendous loss.Â
