Taking to Twitter on Monday, the PM said PTI’s disgusting smear campaign against Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir at the behest of Imran Niazi is deserving of the strongest condemnation.
He said “this man Niazi is stooping to unprecedented lows in his desperation for power & going to the extent of damaging the country & undermining our armed forces & their leadership.”

Although the PM didn’t point out as to what exactly was he referring to, however, political observers believe the tweet by PM came in the backdrop of yesterday’s speech by former premier Imran Khan in which he reportedly quoted former COAS Bajwa as warning that the new Army Chief would prove to be harder on PTI.

Coincidentally, a large number of overseas Pakistanis living in the United States and in United Kingdom gathered at different places to denounce the ongoing crackdown against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Lahore, Islamabad and other cities, during which some placards were spotted carrying slogans against Army Chief Gen Asim Munir.
Meanwhile, MM News has learnt that the Prime Minister has instructed Interior Minister to deal with elements busy in defaming the institution of armed forces with an iron hand.
