LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has alleged that multiple attempts have been made on the life of their leader Ali Amin Gandapur who came under gunfire attack on at least three different location while on his way from Punjab to KP. Gandapur has announced to file cases against federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah, caretaker CM of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar.

Gandapur had been accompanying his party Chairman Imran Khan all the way from Lahore to Islamabad and back, when he was to appear before District and Session Judge in Toshakhana case on Saturday.
He is believed to be on his way back home when the firing incident happened.

PTI sources alleged that Gandapur’s convoy was fired at by Punjab Police at Jhang-Bhakkar boundry when he was on his way to Dera Ismail Khan. Another attempt was made in Sarai-e-Mahajir area where straight shots were fired at his vehicle and convoy, said PTI sources, adding that there might have been casualties since 3 of his gunmen and driver were missing.
Sources further said that another attempt was made Dajak Checkpost where a driver and a few of his companions were allegedly injured.
However, media reports quoted Bhakkar district police officer (DPO) as accusing Ali Amin Gandapur and his gunmen of firing shots at policemen after the former went berserk over being stopped for checking at Dajal checkpost in Bhakkar district.
According to the Bhakkar district police officer (DPO), the policemen narrowly escaped from the shots fired at them indiscriminately.

Ali Amin Gandapur fled the scene after firing shots at the policemen. He was on his way to Dera Ismail Khan when the incident took place near Bandri.
“At the checkpost on the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab, all the vehicles have to be checked before entry,” the DPO said.
Bhakkar police said that the DPO had also reached the spot on being informed of the incident. “The incident is being reviewed,” they added.
The police also said that there were six to seven vehicles in Gandapur’s convoy that also resisted Dera Ismail Khan police’s attempt to stop it.
“It is feared that there were illegal goods in the vehicles. The incident had occurred on Darya Khan bridge. The vehicles in the convoy sped away after the police went after them,” they stated.
