It’s just another day for Ali Zafar as the singer has been facing criticism on social media for singing some Bollywood classics for controversial Indian screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar.
For those who are unaware the Indian Poet who is residing in Lahore was invited to attend Faiz Festival 2023. During the festival, Akhtar made some controversial remarks and openly mocked Pakistanis that the perpetrators of the 26/11 terror attacks were still roaming free, and to expect any Indian to not have any complaints about this would be unfair.
He also reminded the gathering that even though Pakistani artists such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hasan have been welcomed with open arms in India, however, Pakistan has never hosted a Lata Mangeshkar show.
After his speech, he was seen at Zafar’s home where the Chal Dil Meray singer hosted Javed Akhtar at his residence in Lahore along with some friends from the showbiz industry.
During the cheerful event, Akhtar read some of his poetry and also joined Zafar in singing some of the classics Bollywood songs. Now, social media users are showing outrage over Zafar for entertaining AKtar while he on other hand criticised the whole nation.
