LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry has alleged that Maryam Nawaz has set up a cell to blackmail judges, and demanded of the Supreme Court to respond and take action against propaganda being peddled by Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) against the superior judiciary.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said the nation had no hopes from anyone except for judiciary, adding that PMLN was busy in engineered propaganda about alleged division within SC judges.
Welcoming the resignation tendered by Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan, Fawad Chaudhry said the resignation was like “Ghar Ka Bhedi Lanka Dhaye” (an estranged friend of a house may ruin the house). He severely criticized Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, and asked him to resign immediately. He said the present CEC had rendered great services for the present rulers, and in return he had been offered the top slot in Presidency.

He called on Speaker National Assembly to honor his post and do not turn it into the post of ‘Munshi’. He said the appointment of new Chairman NAB must be made in consultation with the new opposition leader of PTI, and not from Raja Riaz who is a ‘turncoat’.
He alleged that the posts of caretaker provincial ministers in Punjab were auctioned, and called upon the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi to come forward on media and announce his neutrality. He alleged that the caretaker government and ECP top brass were having daily conversations on phone.
