Fawad Khan starrer ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’, the movie which is continuously breaking records since its release, has been cancelled in India due to increasing tension across the border.
As reported earlier, the movie was set to release in India in December 2022, however, the release was under review due to conflicts between the two countries. However, now, the release has been cancelled permanently.
A PTI report quoted, “We have been informed by the distributors that the release of the film has been postponed. We were told this two-three days ago. No further date has been shared with us.”
The officials also added, “Zee Studios had acquired the rights of The Legend of Maula Jatt as they were expecting the film to do well. However, because of the resistance from certain sections, the decision was made to not release the movie.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ has crossed $10 million mark worldwide, becoming the first Pakistani movie to achieve this feat.

For those unversed, the film is a reboot of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt starring Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Raheela Agha, Babar Ali, Saima Baloch, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyar Ejaz and Resham.
