NEW DELHI: Indian Cricket Board, BCCI, has decided not to travel to Pakistan for playing Asia Cup, scheduled to be held next year.
Breaking this news BCCI secretary Jay Shah said neutral venue for Asia Cup was not unprecedented. He said “we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan.”
We'll have Asia Cup 2023 at a neutral venue. It's the govt which decides over the permission of our team visiting Pakistan so we won't comment on that but for the 2023 Asia Cup, it is decided that the tournament will be held at a neutral venue: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

He further said “it’s the government which decides over the permission of our team visiting Pakistan so we won’t comment on that but for the 2023 Asia Cup, it is decided that the tournament will be held at a neutral venue.”
It may be mentioned here that Pakistan are scheduled to hold two major ICC events in the next three years – the Asia Cup (which will be a 50-over format ahead of the 2023 World Cup) next year and the Champions Trophy in 2025.
Just last week, a report published online quoted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as saying that it was open to sending the Indian cricket team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023.
Also during last week, another reported published in Indian media claimed that India won’t be playing Pakistan in any bilateral series in the 2023-2027 cycle, and that in the Future Tours Programme (FTP) sent to all state associations, the board had kept the columns for games against Pakistan ‘blank’.
