PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday criticized the Islamabad High Court for dismissing contempt case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying it has “emboldened” him.
“For years, he has been doing this. And when he does [something illegal] and sees that action will be taken against him, he apologizes,” Maryam said about Khan.
The PML-N vice president spoke extensively about her legal fights, Khan’s vendetta against her family, the court’s decision to release him, and other crucial political issues in a news conference after regaining her passport after three years had passed as per the Lahore High Court’s instructions.
Maryam told the judiciary that it should not be lenient with a person like Khan who thinks like “satan”, and his only job is to blame people and launch smear campaigns.
Moreover, the PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that the country’s economy was showing signs of improvement with the return of Ishaq Dar.
Dar stated in statements made after taking the oath last week that he will endeavor to control inflation while lowering interest rates, claiming the rupee was overvalued, and promised a resolute reaction to the biggest economic crisis to hit the South Asian country.
After being sworn in, Dar informed reporters in televised remarks, “We will manage inflation.”
He declared, “We will lower interest rates.”
In her address today, Maryam said that her passport was taken away for three years without any reason.
“I am happy today that I have received my passport, but I would like to ask as to why I was deprived of my fundamental right for three years,” the PML-N leader said.
Maryam said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested her under the pretext of investigation.
“They kept me in the NAB premises unlawfully as there was no space to detain women at NAB,” she said.
