KARACHI: A 12-year-old girl was raped and strangled to death in Korangi on Wednesday, police said.
According to Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed the body of a 12-year-old girl was brought at the medico-legal section of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and the post-mortem examination revealed that she was brutally raped.
According to the police, the girl was hanged inside the house by the criminals. The older sister and the younger sibling were outside the house at the time of the occurrence.
The door was locked from the inside, according to the police, when the father of the murdered girl arrived home from work. Later, when he jumped through a neighbor’s wall and into his own home, he discovered his daughter’s body hanging on a rope.
Zaman Town SHO Rizwan Patel said by the time police arrived the scene the father had already removed the body.
He said that although the father did not want to pursue a legal course of action, the police were able to convince him to complete the necessary medical and legal paperwork.
A police squad was assembled to launch the inquiry.
