ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has announced new dates for by-elections in 4 constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly.
According to the details, the Election Commission announced the new dates of elections in 4 constituencies out of the postponed by-elections. According to the Election Commission, polling in NA-157 Multan and PP-139 Sheikhupura will be held on October 9.
In PP 241 Bahawalnagar, and PP 209 Khanewal, polling for the by-election will also be conducted on October 9. The by-election has been decided in a meeting presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner.

In the statement issued by the Election Commission, it has been stated that the date of the elections was postponed due to the involvement of national institutions in providing aid to the flood victims. It was approved to fix the polling date on October 9.
The written decision of the High Court regarding the suspension of notification of 9 constituencies will be obtained. After considering the decision, the meeting for the by-election in 9 constituencies will be held on September 14.

It is known that the Election Commission had postponed the by-elections held in 13 constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly on September 11, 25, and October 2 due to floods.
