KARACHI: Intermittent monsoon rains have continued to batter parts of the Sindh capital since last night, submerging several parts of the city. Â
According to the details, rain is continuing in different areas of Karachi. Saddar, Zainab Market, Korangi, Old City Area, and I. I. Chundrigar Road have seen standing water in places due to rain.
Due to flooding in the Malir river, the flood water entered the houses late at night. The Meteorological Department said that there will be heavy rain in Karachi today, which is likely to cause urban flooding.
Several people were trapped in the flood waters of the Malir river. On receiving the information, the city administration started the rescue operation. Two people have been rescued in Malir Memon Goth.

Eight families were also rescued from Soomar Kandani Goth. The rescued persons have been temporarily shifted to Government Boys School. Officials said that the rescue operation is going on.
It should be remembered that Sui Southern gas lines were badly affected in many areas after the monsoon rains in Karachi. The citizens were facing problems due to gas leakage last day.
Complaints of gas leakage were received in many areas of the city due to sitting lines. In some areas, domestic consumers lost gas due to water filling of gas lines.
