KARACHI: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has inaugurated the Peoples Intra District Bus Service in the Sindh capital.
The total area of five depots for buses running on seven routes is 78.4 acres. Passengers will be able to avail of intra-district bus service from 235 bus stations in different parts of Karachi. Buses will cover a total distance of 212.5 km on their respective routes.
Led by Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Sindh Transport Department finalized preparations for the inauguration of the People’s Intra District Bus Service.

Sharjeel Memon said that at present the bus is being run from Model Colony to the tower, the bus fare will be Rs 25 to 50. He said that PPP is always trying to develop the city, and transporters should bring new buses instead of old ones.
The Sindh government was lauded for its efforts to run the bus service after the petrol price hike and the worsening transport situation in Karachi. It may be mentioned that 240 buses will be run in phases on 7 routes in the city.
