KARACHI: Vice-Chancellor of the University of Haripur, Prof Dr Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani, resigned on March 14 after completing his three-year term. The search committee also completed the process for the appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor.
A letter issued by Department of Higher Education, Archives and Libraries, Department of Higher Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Registrar, Haripur University, stating also stated that Dr Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani was appointed Vice Chancellor on March 15, 2019. for a term of three years.
The letter emphasized that the term of Dr Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani, Vice-Chancellor of Haripur University, will expire on March 14, 2022. It is to be noted that due to the secrecy of affairs by the administration of Haripur University teachers, there was also ambiguity that the Vice-Chancellor took charge on 25th March 2019 instead of 15th March 2019 due to which his three years will now be completed on 25th March.
After the issuance of the said letter, this ambiguity has also been removed and the matter has also been resolved that Vice Chancellor Dr Ayub Khan will be the Acting Vice Chancellor of Haripur University till the appointment of Permanent Vice Chancellor in Haripur University.
Prof Dr Ayub Khan is also the Pro Vice Chancellor of Jamia Hari and Chairman of the Department of Agriculture. He has also been the Dean and Coordinator of the Department of Agriculture in the Social and Administrative Sciences. He completed his MSc in Agriculture from University of Peshawar in 1987.
