ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has given three more weeks to the government to submit an execution report on the attack on Army Public School.
The Supreme Court today granted the federal government’s request and the case will probably resume in the court only after the winter break.
It is clear that on December 16, 2014, Taliban terrorists stormed the Army Public School and martyred about 150 people, including more than 130 school children. It may be recalled that on November 10, the Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing of the Army Public School case for four weeks after questioning Prime Minister Imran Khan.
PM Imran Khan appeared before the Supreme Court in the APS suicide notecase. The court asked what did you (PM Khan) do after the Army Public School tragedy? To which, the prime minister said that we had a government in the province at that time.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that it was necessary to console the parents of the children who were martyred in Army Public School. The prime minister said that when this incident took place, he immediately reached Peshawar. The Chief Justice asked what the state has done to bring justice to the parents of the children. Their protection was the responsibility of the state, he remarked.
PM Imran Khan said that he was not in the government at that time. The esteemed judge of the Supreme Court remarked that the parents wanted action to be taken against the then high officials.
