KABUL: The Afghan Taliban has stressed the need for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to focus on reaching peace with the government.
Video footage circulating on social media shows TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud making the claim that the banned TTP is a branch of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, however, Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has denied the allegations.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that both TTP and Islamic Emirate are different and their goals are also different. “We advise TTP to focus on peace and stability in our country,” he maintained.
“This is very important so that they can prevent any opportunity for the enemies to interfere in the region and Pakistan,” Zabihullah Mujahid said and urged Pakistan to consider their demands for the betterment of the region and Pakistan.
It is to be noted that the banned TTP in a statement issued here said that the government has failed to implement the decisions taken earlier therefore extension of the ceasefire is not possible in the current situation.
The TTP details a six-point agreement stating that it had reached an agreement with the government on October 25, 2021, under which the parties had agreed that the IEA would act as a mediator and the two sides will form five-member committees to discuss future strategies and demands of both sides under the supervision of a mediator.
