Fawad Chaudhry terms Sialkot incident as ‘time bomb’ for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has condemned the Sialkot incident and referred to it as a ‘time bomb’ in the country which if not is defused timely would continue to explode.

Condemning the senseless killing of the Sri Lankan factory manager in Sialkot, the federal minister said that we as a society have planted time bombs in the society, and if these bombs are not defused then they will continue to explode. “Time is slipping out of our hands like sand,” he added.

In his Twitter message, he said that he had been wondering since yesterday what words to write on the Sialkot incident, he said by terming himself as speechless.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan said in his Twitter message that the Sialkot incident is a shame for Pakistan. The arrests of those involved in the incident are ongoing while he is supervising the investigation into the incident.

In this regard, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that he condemned the assassination of a Sri Lankan manager in Sialkot on charges of blasphemy. “Such incidents are an attempt to spread religious hatred and bring Pakistan into disrepute globally,” he said.
