DHAKA: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has said that individual performance is nothing, victory comes from teamwork and we are determined to maintain the continuity of victory in Tests like T20.
Addressing a pre-series virtual press conference in Dhaka, Babar Azam said that the Pakistan cricket team will give 100 percent performance in the test series. “Every one of our players strives for 100 percent performance,” he added.
While highlighting the importance of team performance, Babar Azam said that when a team is given a chance to play consistently, it creates continuity. “Individual performance is not important, victory comes from teamwork,” he maintained.
Talking about the Test series against Bangladesh, Babar Azam said that we have experienced bowlers who can be useful for the team. The Bangladesh youth team is capable of performing well, he said.
The captain of the national team said that conditions are difficult in Bangladesh, the hosts do not consider the team easy. “Our betting line is also experienced. Hopefully our team will perform well. Bangladesh can give tough time,” he asserted.
Talking about the Test squad, Babar Azam said that other players including Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam are in good form. Test players have joined the squad after playing the season. The effort will be to maintain the continuity of victory, Azam added.
Babar Azam said that real cricket is Test cricket, therefore Test matches are always important. We’ve been playing white-ball cricket for two and a half months. The sooner you get ready for the test, the better. I am working hard so that I can perform well on the test, he said.
