LAHORE: Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Usman Shinwari on Tuesday announced his retirement for red-ball cricket and “will now focus only on white-ball cricket”, he announced on social media.
Taking to Twitter, the 27-year-old wrote that he resigned from the longer format to prolong his career and avoid future injuries. Meanwhile, Shinwari is ready to make comeback after recovering from a back injury.

“Alhamdullilah, I have made my comeback again from a back injury and now I am absolutely fit,” the left-handed pacer wrote on Twitter.
“[However], due to my doctors and physio advise, I have to leave the long format to avoid such injuries in future and prolong my cricket career. I am resigning from red-ball,” Shinwari added.
It must be noted that Shinwari has represented Pakistan in one Test match and played 33 first class matches. He has represented the Men in Green 17 ODIs and 16 T20I matches.
PCB announces Test squad for Bangladesh series
A day earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the squad for the Men In Green’s Test series against Bangladesh, a statement from the body said.
The national selectors announced the team for the two Tests against Bangladesh, which will be played in Chittagong from November 26 to November 30 and in Dhaka from December 4 to December 8.
Opener Imam-Ul-Haq, middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam and off-spinner Bilal Asif have been named in the 20-player squad, replacing Haris Rauf, Imran Butt, Shahnawaz Dahani and Yasir Shah, who were part of the 21-player side that toured the West Indies in July/August.
