SUKKUR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh Police has arrested a Daesh terrorist in a raid and seized explosives from his custody.
According to news sources, the arrested suspect has been identified as Waqar, who was involved in the attacks on NATO forces in Afghanistan and has spent 13 months in the Philippines.
Earlier, last month CTD had arrested three terrorists along with Tehreek-e-Taliban’s commander during the raid. A raid was carried out by CTD in the capital city Islamabad which resulted in the arrest of three terrorists and a TTP commander on charges of millions worth of extortion from businessmen and private educational institutions.

While he addressed a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jamil Zafar Malik revealed, “The terrorists demanded a total of Rs.300 million extortion through 10 letters written to different people”.

Meanwhile, one of the suspects arrested was identified as Bakht who served as a former TTP commander from Swat. SSP further mentions that the terrorist also has their accomplices in Afghanistan who will also be arrested soon.
