Sindh Governor to accelerate cooperation with UAE

ABU DHABI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has expressed his interest in expanding relations and bilateral cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.

Governor Sindh met with Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Hamdan is also the Emir of Abu Dhabi’s representative in Al Dhafra Region.

Sheikh Hamdan hailed the bilateral relations between the UAE and Pakistan and the UAE’s keenness to strengthen and develop them in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries and benefits their peoples.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on a number of regional and international issues of common interest. Imran Ismail stressed that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relationship with the UAE and is keen to support and develop it to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and their peoples.

He expressed sincere appreciation of the UAE’s permanent support for the Pakistani people under all circumstances, including the establishment of humanitarian and development projects in various Pakistani sectors.

After the meeting, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan graciously invited him to Dubai. “Had a great meeting with him. Discussion on bilateral relations was held to promote investment & business. He was also kind enough to accept my request to visit Pakistan,” the governor tweeted.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ahmed Matar Al Dhaheri, Director of the Office of H.H. the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, Issa Hamad Bushhab, Advisor to the Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and Khadim Abdullah AlDarei, the co-founder and managing director of Al Dahra Holding.

On the Pakistani side, the meeting was also attended by Punjab Minister of Food Abdul Aleem Khan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Afzal Mahmud Mirza Sultan Mahmud.
