Gwadar International Airport will become operational till 2023

Gwadar: The new Gwadar International Airport would become operational by September 2023.

According to local news sources, it has been confirmed that Gwadar International Airport would become operational by September 2023. The passenger terminal building of the airport covers an area of 4,300 acres, would be completed by June 2023, while the overalls construction is expected to be completed in September 2023, as per sources.

However, the project is a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is a cornerstone of One Belt One Road initiative of China. Meanwhile, under bilateral project of CPEC Pakistan is launching various projects to, maximize regional trade among China, Pakistan and other Asian regions.

Though, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is considered as game changer for Pakistan which was launched in 2015, including transportation systems, coal projects, energy projects and trading system. The route of CPEC starts from northern areas famous Silk Route to worlds deepest seaport Gwadar.
