October the 3rd might be a dismal day for Shah Rukh Khan as his eldest son Aryan Khan was among the few people who were detained and interrogated following a drug case.
Aryan Khan was rounded up and arrested in the NCB’s first-ever raid on a luxury ship for a fun-filled two-night gala voyage to Goa with around 1,300 affluent passengers on board.
However, since his arrest in a drug case, the whole internet has been divided into two sections. While some people are against Aryan Khan’s arrest, others are questioning Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s fatherly duty and assuming that if SRK failed as a father.
Being a bad parent was not the only thing SRK was framed for. Many social media users even compared his parenting with that of Akshaya Kumar, whose son has more ‘good image’.
The case
Aryan Khan along with few others was nabbed from a rave party on a Mumbai to Goa-bound cruise on 3rd October. He was questioned by the NCB in the matter further. He is in the custody till today.
Goa-bound cruise
The Goa-bound cruise is Cordelia cruiseliner’s Empress ship is massive in size. The ship has 11 decks and 796 cabins in total.
The Empress cruise boasts of several luxury facilities like spa, salon, gymnasium, and even a shopping area that stocks several brands. There is a card room, a reading zone, and even a place for children’s educational and recreational activities called the “Cordelia Academy”.
The officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), disguised as passengers on board the ship, started a raid that lasted almost eight hours where they arrested Khan’s son and his friends.
Raid
Aryan Khan has been accused of purchase, possession and use of banned substances. During the raid, the officials found a haul of 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA and 5 grams of MD. The drugs were found hidden in clothes, underwear, and purses.
Court’s hearing
At Monday’s court hearing, during one heated moment in the arguments, Aryan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde even said that it was not as if ‘Khan (Aryan) was selling drugs in the ship, if he wants, he can buy the ship’.
No bail for Aryan Khan
On 4th October, Aryan Khan was denied bail after his sensational arrest in the drugs-on-cruise case. Moreover, his parents Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan did not attend the bail hearing.
Does Aryan need an appointment to meet SRK?
Aryan Khan is the visual representation of the American comic character ‘Richie Rich’, as son Khan has reportedly told the NCB that he occasionally needs an appointment just to meet his father SRK.
Well, what an irony! SRK had to take the NCB’s permission for a brief meet with his own son in the agency lock-up. As per the reports, Aryan Khan broke down in tears as soon as he saw his father.
It is also reported that Aryan has been cooperative during the investigation. The star kid went on to confess that he has been doing drugs for four years in a row. Aryan’s Whatsapp chats were also accessed by the NCB, to find if there was a link to international drug trafficking.
Is SRK a bad parent?
Back in 1997, in an interview with host Simi Garewal, where he had clearly said that his son would be free to ‘party, have sex and do drugs.’
Since the arrest, Shah Rukh Khan is being roasted on social media for ‘bad parenting’. Bollywood celebrities love to live it up in style and their lives are quite happening.
Going on exotic vacations to partying like there’s no tomorrow is normal for star kids in the Indian industry. But blaming stars like Shah Rukh Khan if his son gets arrested in a drug case and being called a bad parent for letting his son use drugs is something that needs to reconsider.
