65-year-old mother axed to death by son in Karachi

KARACHI: A woman was axed to death by his son over a domestic dispute in Karachi’s Naval Colony on Thursday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East, the accused, identified as Irshad Hussain, killed his 65-year-old mother by hitting her on the head with an axe during a domestic dispute.
“Hussain is a chief petty officer in a government agency and was on a one-year leave from June 20”, the police official said. After the incident, the Naval police took the accused into custody and handed him over to the police, further investigation is underway, SSP said.
SSP East said that police arrested deceased son Irshad Hussain involved in the murder. The accused attacked his mother with an axe at 6 am in the morning. The injured elderly woman was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
A FIR was registered on behalf of the deceased  brother. The police has mentioned multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including murder and attempts to murder.
