MUZAFFARABAD: Six people lost their lives when a jeep carrying them plunged into a ravine in Neelum valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday.
According to details gathered by MM News, a jeep GAA329 carrying more than a dozen people was on its way back homes after casting votes in Dodhanyal area when it fell into the ravine. Six women lost their lives who were identified as Shamim Bibi, Attar Jan, Sahibzadi, Alif Jan, Shamim Akhtar and Nasrin Bibi.
Eight other people including driver of the jeep received injuries and were rushed to hospital for first aid where two of them were said to be in critical condition.
Officials said that reasons behind the accident are yet to be ascertained, and that voting in the area of Dodhanyal Polling Stations Number 7 and 8 was temporarily stopped.
