The Pakistan Navy (PN), Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) and the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department (Narcotics Control Wing, Sindh), successfully conducted a Joint Maritime Operation and Intelligence Based Operation (IB0) in the Arabian Sea.
During surveillance and coordinated maritime patrols, a stateless vessel was intercepted and boarded. A detailed search revealed over 500 kilograms of Hashish and Crystal Ice (Methamphetamine). In another event, an IBO led to the confiscation of illicit liquor concealed onboard, all destined for unlawful distribution.
The success of the operation was enabled by timely intelligence sharing, real time coordination and seamless execution by the participating agencies. The seized contraband has an estimated collective street value of over 1 Billion Pakistani Rupees and represents major disruption to narcotics trafficking and smuggling networks operating in the region.
The confiscated items have been formally handed over to the Excise, Taxation Narcotics Control Department (Sindh) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This operation highlights the robust synergy among Pakistan’s maritime and law enforcement agencies and reaffirms their collective resolve to combat smuggling, safeguard national maritime boundaries and contribute to regional security.
