The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah (Masjid-e-Nabvi) has welcomed 4,000 worshipers from 120 countries for I’tikaf, a spiritual retreat during the last ten nights of Ramadan.
To help with accommodation, men were assigned to the western rooftop area, which can be reached through staircases No. 6 and 10, while women were assigned to the northeastern section, with entry through doors 24 and 25A.
The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque swiftly implemented a range of essential services to facilitate the worshipers’ spiritual experience, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Among the services provided were secure lockers, a dedicated help desk, medical clinics with first aid facilities, multilingual translation assistance, and religious lessons. Worshipers were also provided with full meal provisions for iftar, dinner, and sahoor, as well as mobile charging stations.
Each participant received a personal care kit and a wristband to facilitate movement within the mosque, ensure access to designated areas, and streamline service provision.
The initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing a seamless and enriching experience for Muslims undertaking I’tikaf at one of Islam’s holiest sites.
