SRINAGAR: At least four persons were killed and six others injured when gunmen opened firing targeting three houses of minority community at village Upper Dhangri, about eight kilometres from Rajouri town in the Indian occupied Kashmir last evening.
Those killed include father-son duo and a PHE employee. Local organizations such as Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) and others gave a call for strike today.

Initial reports quoted eye witnesses as saying that two gunmen armed with AK rifles appeared at Upper Dhangri from surrounding forest area at the stroke of 7 pm and targeted three houses of minorities near a temple one by one and rained bullets after confirming identity of civilians through Aadhaar cards.
The firing continued for 10 minutes in the three houses separated by around 50 metres after which both the gunmen fled away from the scene.

Three persons died on spot and seven others were injured. Another injured succumbed while being airlifted tonight from Rajouri to Jammu in an Army helicopter taking death toll to four. Two other injured were, however, airlifted to the GMC Jammu while rest of the four injured are being treated in the GMC Rajouri.

Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh said police, along with the Army and the CRPF, have launched a massive search operation to nab the two “armed men” behind the attack at Upper Dhangri village.
