The annual Karachi Eat Food festival kicks off on Friday, anticipating the participation of over 120 vendors, both new and returning, who will have the opportunity to connect with thousands of potential customers.
Taking place at Beach View Park in Clifton, the festival is celebrating its 11th year and promises a diverse array of food stalls offering both sweet and savory culinary delights. Musical performances will also be a highlight, featuring renowned artists such as Young Stunners, Shamoon Ismail, and Mustafa Baloch.
Participating vendors mainly consist of home-based entities, including Purple Cow, Dossani Kitchen, Yelo, and several others. A new addition to this year’s festival is the Bringing Emerging Artists Together (BEAT) Festival – a musical concept aimed at providing a platform for emerging Pakistani musical talent, as stated in the press release.
Omer Omari, the CEO of the Eat Food Festival, expressed, “Just as Karachi Eat provides a launching pad for aspiring chefs entering the city’s food scene, the BEAT aspect of the festival aims to do the same for young, budding musicians waiting for an opportunity to prove their mettle.”
In addition to being a vendor springboard, this year’s festival introduces EatsApp, a food discovery platform designed to extend beyond the event. Users can utilize the app to rate, review, and discover new eateries throughout the year.
Tickets for the festival are priced at Rs750 and can be purchased on Ticketwala.pk, but through the EatsApp platform, the cost is reduced to Rs500.
It’s worth noting that last year’s festival concluded on a negative note, with gatecrashers causing a security breach that forced singer Kaifi Khalil to halt his performance.
