A soldier of the Pakistan Army has embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district.
A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated the operation was conducted in the Senai Narai area of the district on the reports of the presence of terrorists. According to details, sepoy Junaid, age 20 years, resident of Balakot, district Mansehra embraced martyrdom.
It further said a cordon and search operation was underway for any terrorists found in the area. On June 20, security forces killed two terrorists during an IBO in North Waziristan district, ISPR said.
It said that the operation was conducted in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area on reports of the presence of the militants. The statement further said that the killed terrorists were active members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Spinwam and were involved in terrorist activities against the security forces.
Earlier in June, a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near a military checkpost in Kaniguram area of South Waziristan district.
