OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: Israeli forces clashed with Palestinian gunmen on Friday during a daylight raid in the Jenin refugee camp, martyring two Palestinians and injuring several others.
Local media quoted Israel Defense Forces as announcing the military operation in the Jenin area without elaborating further details.
However, local media sources said that the Israeli forces targeted a Hamas operative on suspicion of his involvement in recent shooting attacks.
The Palestinian health ministry confirmed that two people, including a doctor, lost their lives, and several others were hurt in clashes with the Israeli soldiers, while no Israeli troops were reported injured.

Independent Israeli media reported that Dr. Abdullah was shot dead by a sniper while carrying out rescue and relief operations in Jenin.
