KARACHI: One robber was killed and 10 other injured in various encounters with police in Karachi. A policeman Nihal, assigned to Shaheen Force, embraced martyrdom during a shootout in Pak Colony.
As per details, police recovered 12 different types of illegal weapons, 4 motorcycles and 17 mobile phones in 11 various encounters in the metropolis. Seized weapons have been sent for forensic analysis, police officials said.
Meanwhile, more than 927 suspects were arrested during raids in East, West and South Zones. The police, during the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, seized millions of rupees worth drugs including 94 kg hashish, one kg heroin, and 2 kg ice.
Moreover, more than 139 various types of illegal weapons and ammunition used in the street crimes have also been recovered.
Golestan Johar police station of district East arrested 4 suspects of a gang and recovered a stolen vehicle. Illegal weapons with ammunition, a stolen laptop bag, 8 mobile phones and cash were also seized from the suspects.
Meanwhile, in the Central District, Sir Seyed Police arrested a target-killer affiliated with the militant wing of a political party.
Nabi Bakhsh police station city district arrested three wanted street criminals of the 6-member dacoit gang during an operation and recovered illegal weapons and a motorcycle, while Ajmir Negeri police station arrested five out of eight members of a gang involved in robbing houses and shops. Illegal weapons, lock cutter, iron rod and a rickshaw were also recovered from the possession of the gang members.
Moreover, Karachi Police have recovered over 62 stolen motorcycles and 4 vehicles during various operation in city.
