PESHAWAR: Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi has gifted a brand new locally assembled MG HS Essence to Zalmi Captain Babar Azam, local media reported on Wednesday.
As per details, in yesterday’s match against Islamabad United, the Zalmi captain displayed remarkable prowess by smashing boundaries all over the field. He delivered an unbeaten 111 off 63 balls, featuring 14 fours and two sixes, showcasing an impressive strike rate of 176.19 and aiding Zalmi to a formidable total of 201.
Despite spinner Arif Yaqoob’s exceptional performance, claiming four wickets in the 19th over, Islamabad United fell short by eight runs. Yaqoob concluded with figures of five for 27 in his allotted four overs. Nevertheless, Azam’s outstanding century earned him the title of player of the match.
Away from the cricket field, the Zalmi captain exhibits a passion for cars, owning several high-end luxury vehicles. Among his collection, the Audi A5 holds a special place as his favorite, alongside the BJ40 Plus, which he secured during a series between Pakistan and Australia. Additionally, he has been spotted in a Hyundai Sonata during a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ceremony.
